Alice's Just Like Home is owned and operated by Dan and Kathy Lynch. Alice's opened its doors November 14, 2001. The business was a dream come true for Kathy Lynch. Because of the encourgement and support of Kathy's mother, the business was named after Kathy's mother, Alice. We started the business because we felt there was a need for a boarding and grooming facility in our area. Our desire was to have a place where families could bring their pet and feel good knowing that they would have a clean, safe environment for their pet while they were on vacation or if an emergency had come up, or just for a day out, whatever their needs are. After all, pets are just like children, needing attention all the time.

We are located just 3 miles east of Wildwood and 10 minutes from Kountze. Take 69 north past the Wildwood entrance, turn right on Gore Store Road, go 1.3 miles and take a right on Oilfield Loop Road. Go 1/4 mile and we are located on the left side of the road.

The services we provide are pet grooming; full-service, very gentle approach. We are always looking out for the pet's best interest. We take our time so that the pet gets acquainted with us and they have a good experience. Quality, not quantity is our goal.

Boarding is also provided. We have a couple of different options, such as suites, upon request. If requested and available, these rooms are 15x15. These rooms work well with pets that can be kept in a room without being kenneled. Puppies, toy dogs and older animals work very well in these rooms. We also have a cat room with plenty of space for exercise and play. We have kennels that are 16x10. Our outside exercise area is on a concrete slab that is currently about 20 x120, eventually there will be 6 individual 20x20 areas. Our building is approximately 3600 square feet, with central air and heat throughout. We are on 14 acres and located on a very low traffic road. Pet safety was one of the reasons why this property was chosen. Dogs are also walked at least 4 times per day.

We also raise Yorkshire Terriers in our home. Our Yorkies are all very special to us and give us much pleasure. Kathy loves grooming Yorkies and she considers that her speciality. If you visit Alice's you will most likely meet some of our 'little children' because they love visiting with all the other Yorkies that come to visit us.

We also carry pet supplies: flea products, dog food, bowls, leads, collars, grooming aides, and a variety of everything your pet needs. We also carry two superior brands of dog food: Chicken Soup For The Pet Lover's Soul and Flint River Ranch dog foods.

We hope to serve all of Hardin and Tyler Counties and surrounding areas. We may be a little out of the way, but if you visit us you will find that your pet is worth it. We believe that every pet that comes through our facility is special We devote a lot of one-on-one attention to the pet. We want each and every pet in our care to have a good experience during their stay with us. We love to see those tails wagging when they come to see us. Our name says it all, Alice's Just Like Home, created to have the closest thing to home, when your pet has to be away from the family.

Our prices are very reasonable. We have no extra costs hidden for anything extra asked from us. We also have a senior discount program for seniors 65 years or older. This discount is 20% off both boarding and grooming.

We live on the property and we are available 24/7 for your pet. We can be available any time for emergency service. We want to be there for you and your pet.

We are a family-owned business. Kathy Lynch has studied and completed many courses on animal behavior and has worked in a grooming shop. Kathy has also taken courses in the grooming field, PCT program offered through ABKA (American Boarding Kennels Association). She is also applying for the accreditation program through ABKA. This is a volunteer program that gives business a chance to be evaluated through ABKA. You must meet their strict standards of excellence. It is very difficult to receive this honnor and we are really striving for it. We at Alice's want to strive for this type of business. We have been members of ABKA since 1998 and we truly appreciate all they have to offer.

We believe we are unique in our business, as our approach is a little different than most boarding kennels in the area. We want your pet to feel comfortable with us. I suggest you stop by with your pet and meet us. Even spend a couple of hours with us and see how sell they do. This also applies to grooming.

We have a lot of plans for future expansion, which will include employment opportunities. We will ask that any new employees do complete the ABKA pet tech program, and attend their seminars.

We are also located on the hurricane evacuation route and have contacted the Red Cross to let them know we are here for emergencies.
